Sell Your Twitter Apps on oneforty!

At nine o’clock this morning, we launched our ecommerce platform for developers. Simplifying the selling process is one of the ways we are striving to meet the needs of developers, and I wanted to take some time to highlight the benefits of selling on oneforty as a Twitter app publisher.

First and foremost: you can make money, and you can do it easily. Most developers want to spend their time coding their apps, not interfacing with gateways or setting up merchant accounts. We’ve done our best to remove these laborious tasks from the selling process, so you can focus on your app, and when you’re ready, get up and selling quickly.

Selling your app will also give you increased visibility on oneforty. Our home page highlights apps that are for sale, and we let our users browse through all paid apps. You can expect other paid app highlights in weeks to come.

Getting Started

All you need to get started selling on oneforty is a free oneforty developer key, and a PayPal email address that we can use to pay you. We’ve put together a Seller’s Getting Started Guide that walks you through the process from start to finish. We also have a complete API specification and a sandbox where you can test your order fulfillment process.

If your app is built on Ruby, Dan Croak has put together an excellent oneforty seller demo that you are free to use. Shannon Whitley has written a demo for .NET.

As always, developers are welcome to contact us at developers@oneforty.com with any questions, ideas or feedback. If you’re on IRC, you can usually find us in #oneforty on freenode.net.
